Female Safe Period Calculator
Introduction to physiological cycle terms

Menstrual Period

The period of time during which menstruation occurs, usually lasting 3-7 days. During this period, the lining of the uterus is shed and there is bleeding from the vagina.

Safe period

The period of the menstrual cycle during which the likelihood of pregnancy is low. It is divided into a pre-ovulatory period and a post-ovulatory period. Generally speaking, the safe period before ovulation is from the day after menstruation to 5 days before the day of ovulation; the safe period after ovulation is from the end of ovulation to the next menstrual period.

Risk period (fertile period)

The period of the menstrual cycle when the likelihood of pregnancy is high, usually referred to as the days before and after ovulation. The egg survives for 1-2 days after ovulation and the sperm survives for 2-3 days in the female reproductive tract, making intercourse in the days before and after ovulation a good time to conceive.

Ovulation

The process of releasing an egg from the ovary, which usually occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual period. Calculating ovulation is very important for both contraception and pregnancy planning.
